Free FTP Client

FileZilla ftp client uses very little resources and provides all the typical functionality required in an FTP program. It boasts features like drag & drop, transfer queues, resume, large file transfers, and many more. FileZilla lets you transfer files and navigate among folders, Web sites, and your computer. This software enables you to perform multiple file transfers simultaneously. If you don’t care about the appearance and you just want a fast, easy, and full featured program, this is your program.

2. FireFTP:

Fireftp is best software if you use Firefox, including advanced features such as directory comparison, syncing directories while navigating, SSL encryption, search/filtering, integrity checks, remote editing, drag & drop, file hashing, and more. With this robust feature set, the software is easy to use.

3. GoFTP:

This program presents itself as the fastest multi-threaded FTP program available, working 314% faster than its competitors. Speed and ease of use are the biggest sellers for this program. GoFTP also perform “on the fly compression,” as well as instant connections and directories through its proprietary technology. It also supports the usual features, drag & drop, and transfer queues. This is another good alternative to a paid program.

4. WinSCP:

WinSCP will suit if you want a SCP (secure copy) client for Windows that uses SSH and offers a rich feature set. It includes a built-in terminal; it can launch Putty directly, allows remote file editing, direct transfer and transfer queuing, and has the ability to limit download speed rates. One thing I might point out is that is does offer a command-line interface and batch processing.

5. Cyberduck:

It is suggested for Mac OS users. Cyberduck is an open source FTP, SFTP, WebDAV and Amazon S3 browser licensed under the GPL with an easy to use interface, integration with external editors and support for many Mac OS X system technologies such as Spotlight, Bonjour, QuickLook and the Keychain.

6. Tunnelier:

Tunnelier is a much better proposition than FileZilla for SFTP. It’s a fast SSH client with a basic FTP client strapped on. The main reason for using it is that over SFTP it’s many times quicker than FileZilla, which is very important when you are sending 200mb video files.

7. BitKinex:

BitKinex is a handy network client supporting multiple transfer protocols (FTP, FTP(S), SFTP, HTTP(S) and WebDAV). In contrast to other clients BitKinex uses multiple connections not only for file transfers but for browsing remote directories as well. With just one click you can minimize the space occupied by the program to one small window showing the status of running requests, and with just a few clicks you can see all the details again.

FTP Wanderer is a multithreaded FTP client with the look-and-feel of Windows Explorer, and makes moving files between the Internet and your computer as simple as local file manipulation. It features drag and drop upload/download, folder transfers, simultaneous connections, CERN proxy support, remote folder bookmarks, and resume support. The program is easy to use with an Explorer-style interface. FTP Wanderer is primarily designed for fast FTP browsing of file sites, and not for web site management. Standalone program, no install needed.

10. AnyConnect:

AnyConnect is a free FTP/FTPS/SSH/Telnet/Terminal client software. AnyConnect supports multiple connections at once in a mixed mode where you can both FTP and make a terminal connection at the same time. AnyConnect supports many protocols and specific protocol settings. It includes features drag and drop files, Auto updateable client, many protocols in one client, real time log view, file upload/download progress view and more.
